The Spring Fair at Norma Rose Point school is an interactive, carnival event taking place on Friday, May 10.
There will be a variety of activities for all ages, with everything you could imagine at a fair and more. This includes carnival rides and musical performances from school groups—the NRP choir and The Chickadees—and professional entertainers—Will’s Jams and Emcee / DJ Rock’n’Beau.
Food trucks such as Slothfuls Bubble Tea, Japadog, and Dos Amigo will be available and there’ll be lots of snacks as well.
Other events include sports workshops like karate and gymnastics, games created by students and a bake sale. Community organizations like Oceanwise will participate.
The fair also raises funds. Money will go toward building a new intermediate playground for students and community members, said Hannie Chia, chair of NRP Parent Advisory Council. Although it’s in the beginning stages of planning, the current fundraising goal for the project is approximately $250,000, said Chia.
Entry to the fair will be free but attendees are advised to bring some cash. Ride tickets will be $1 each, or 15 for $10, and there will also be a silent auction as well.
Because parking will be limited, participants are asked to use alternate forms of transportation.
People can come by to jam to a dance party, enjoy the rides, eat good food, or simply meet and have a great time with others. Additionally, the fair will be taking place rain or shine, so come prepared.
The fair is organized by hard-working school staff, students, and community members. It can be found at 5488 Ortona Rd, so drop by and have some fun.
