LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Dear Handsome Sports Car Driver

On June 26, I was the eighty-two-year-old senior retrieving a shopping cart from the raised buggy return area of the Wesbrook underground parking lot.

Your low-slung, expensive sports car was parked to my immediate right, less than one meter away. You started and revved your car engine with such a roar that I had a massive startled reaction. My hands flew up, my head and spine snapped back, and I couldn’t figure out which way to run. All this resulted in a fierce headache reminiscent of my previous stroke.

When I was able to look at you, you were laughing and continued to laugh as you backed out and roared away. I couldn’t recover in time to get your license plate, but believe me, your face and car are permanently ingrained in my mind.

I will be looking for you and will have no qualms about loudly calling out your immature, disrespectful behaviour.

And remember, your “manhood” is not measured in decibels.
