The UNA’s annual Neighbours Day happens on September 12 at the Wesbrook Community Centre from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m.
As with previous years, the celebration will feature live entertainment, games, food, and art to enjoy.
This year, some of the highlights include a BBQ snack bar, a watermelon eating contest, face painting, balloon art, and live music and performances by local acts.
Last year, over 1,500 people attended Neighbours Day celebrations and roughly 80 people volunteered to help with the event. Thirty-five community partners and vendors were also present at the festivities.
Over the past two years, the Neighbours Day stage has played host for numerous performances, from J-Pop group Non-Sweet to indie rock band Bealby Point, to Merlin the Magician and ROOTS’ Peruvian folk-dances.
This year, there will also be a Kids Market, where children aged 6-18 are able to showcase and sell their handmade goods.
There’s something for everyone at Neighbours Day, so join your fellow neighbours at the party.
